It?s public money, and yet we?re giving it to private banks. Why? We have our own public bank, owned by us, but we?re borrowing from other people?s banks. Why? What rights do we still have under Canadian law? Where does money really come from anyway? John Riddell?s video, The Privatisation of the Money Supply and the Growth of Government Debt. explains this and more. Discussion follows. I?ve booked the party room in my building for this. You may but don?t have to bring snacks you want to share (or have for yourself), and we?re providing some as well. If you can, stay and help clean up (so I get my deposit back).

WHEN: 7:30 PM, TUESDAY September 18, 2007. It?s free, of course, with no donations requested

WHERE: 30 Gloucester Street, Toronto [masked] for info

HOW TO GET TO THE BUILDING: 2 blocks north of the Wellesley Subway station, ¼ block east of Yonge; or 4 blocks south of Bloor St

HOW TO GET IN: Please enter through the lobby. Key in the # sign followed by 333. We?ll answer the phone from the Party Room and buzz you in. Once in the lobby, turn right, then left around the elevators. Go out the back door and into the building across the sidewalk.

Please note this is a private residential building, so there should be no noise in the lobby.

Here?s a flyer you can print out and distribute:

    •  Although I arrived 1/2 hr. late, and considering my lack of knowledge of the Canadian monetary and economic system and policy, I left with a better insight on the topic. I'm stoked to learn more on the subject for my own personal reasons and to become a stronger ally to the group. Much thanks to Dee and Wendy for pointing me in the right direction and making me feel welcome. I was very impressed with Sidney's knowledge and experience regarding economic and political issues and hope to attend some of her lectures in the future. So nice to be in the company of peers with a similar passion for positive change. Just sorry I didn't have the opportunity to meet more of the members..Congratulations to all in the group who take time from their busy lives and make the effort for the betterment of Canadians and humanity on the whole.
